JPHL 3 Things to Watch January 8th
17U Langley HA
Streaking
The win streak is at 10 for Langley Hockey Academy. They have won their last five regular-season games and five during the Bauer Winter Championships.
Their only loss this season was in early November, in an overtime game, giving them a record of 17-0-1 thanks to scoring nearly six goals per game.
LHA will attempt to extend their streak to 11 against Coquitlam HC, in a rematch of the Bauer Winter Championships, which Langley claimed.
17U Kootenay HA
Home Cooking
They didn’t have the Bauer Winter Championships they wanted, but Kootenay Hockey Academy has been lights out in the regular season as of late.
With seven straight wins, they will host the showcase this weekend and are hoping home cooking will run the streak to 10. Preston Oler is leading the way with 11 goals and 10 helpers in 19 games.
This will be the first time playing at home for the 17U program.
18U Lethbridge United
Even Steven
It’s been an up-and-down season for the U, whose longest win streak has been three games.
They look to start a new streak this weekend in Cranbrook. Lethbridge is 3-2 in its last five games. Lethbridge sits in third place in the Prairies and has lost three times in extra time.
Lethbridge is exactly even in one way, 59 goals for and 59 goals against. 15 of their near 60 goals have come on the power play.
Lethbridge will take on Titans Hockey Union, HC Edmonton and Bow Valley HC this weekend.
