RECALIBRATING ELITE LEVEL HOCKEY; JUNIOR PROSPECTS HOCKEY LEAGUE HITS THE ICE IN 2022-23
Feb. 25, 2022
Spruce Grove, Alberta - February 25, 2022
Silent Ice Sports and Entertainment is pleased to announce the creation of a new and exciting hockey platform, the Junior Prospects Hockey League. The JPHL provides a quality student athlete experience, high-level on and off-ice development, and competitive league play across Western Canada including signature North American exposure events, all at an attainable price point.
A collective vision from the collaboration of hockey professionals, the JPHL is born from extensive experience and professionals from all levels of hockey, which has led to the creation of an elite stream of borderless hockey. The JPHL will feature seven HUB cities with a total of nine teams that includes a hybrid model of academic support and on ice development/team play. The program carefully merges player education with daytime on and off-ice development. This focused approach not only allows student-athletes to maximize their days, but it also enables players to stay within their community and benefit from family support as they prepare to play at the next level.
The Junior Prospects Hockey League is built around four main visions and will always focus on:
LIFESTYLE
JPHL provides a supportive environment which allows athletes to focus on academics and on their athletics within an attractive school schedule. This allows for these driven athletes and their families to have a precious resource. Time. Time to spend with family, time to spend with friends outside of the rink/classroom and time to participate in different activities throughout the year. Having a structured schedule for the year allows families to plan accordingly for special occasions and events without sacrifice.
GROWTH
Student-athletes who have strong leadership/mentorship in the classroom and in athletics show tremendous growth. If a student-athlete can surround themselves with likeminded classmates/teammates, growth has been proven to be accelerated. The JPHL has teamed up with industry professionals and created a standard across the league to give the essential resources to help enhance an already accelerated development environment.
INTEGRITY
Student-athletes, academic and athletic staff strive to be leaders in the community, showing respect and building strong principles, helping them work in team environments in life. Honesty and kindness to others are attributes we encourage, while taking the time to analyze choices to ensure you’re doing the right thing.
OPPORTUNITY
JPHL strives to provide all student-athletes with opportunities in both academics and within the athletics they love. Guiding families through academic plans that work within their lifestyle and future of their student-athlete. Our relationships with Major Junior and Junior A representatives can provide opportunities to continue competing at the highest levels. The JPHL provides the support to not only help athletes get to where they want to go, but also gives them the skillsets required to be successful and obtain their own personal goals.
The JPHL is partnering with Power Edge Pro (PEP) and each of its member athletes have access to certified Power Edge Pro (PEP) training including video teaching from top PEP instructors to ensure the highest standards of on-ice development. JPHL athletes will also have access to True Movement; a cutting edge off-ice training system that elite athletes are adding to their training regimen. Other advantages include off ice strength and conditioning coaches who will provide athlete specific training programs to further enhance the individual athlete’s progress.
The Junior Prospects Hockey League (JPHL) will feature nine HUB clubs playing across Alberta and British Columbia and will feature elite level game play at the U18, U15 and U14 levels for the upcoming 2022-23 season. Each HUB is strategically placed to optimize area assets, deliver value, and facilitate timely advancement for our athletes and staff.
