JPHL Grants Exceptional Status to Liam Pue for 18U Play with Langley Hockey Academy

Aug. 27, 2024

The JPHL is thrilled to announce an exciting development for the upcoming 2024-25 season. The Junior Prospects Hockey League (JPHL) has officially granted exceptional status to Liam Pue, born in 2010, allowing him to compete at the 18U level with Langley HA. This remarkable achievement is a league first and underscores the extraordinary talent and unique circumstances surrounding Liam's progression within our league.

For those who have had the privilege of watching Liam compete in the JPHL over the past few seasons as an underage player, this news may come as no surprise. His exceptional skill, hockey sense, and maturity have been evident on the ice, marking him as one of the elite junior hockey prospects in the country. Liam continues to impress coaches, teammates, and scouts alike with his unwavering commitment to excellence both on and off the ice.

At JPHL, the highest priority is placed on the development of the athletes. Decisions like these are made with careful consideration of what is best for the player’s long-term growth. Richard Nault, JPHL Commissioner says “Liam’s physical and mental attributes, combined with his hockey IQ, make him well-prepared to take on the challenges of competing at this advanced level. Additionally, he has the full support of a strong and grounded family foundation, as well as a coaching staff and organization familiar with his ability to rise to the occasion.” Commenting on this exciting news, longtime coach and Langley HA Director of Player Personnel, Curtis Fraser, shared his thoughts on Liam’s progression, "Liam is an extraordinary talent who has consistently demonstrated his ability to compete at the highest levels. His work ethic, passion for the game, and maturity are beyond his years, and we have no doubt that he will thrive in this new challenge. It’s been a privilege to watch his development over the years, and we are confident that Liam’s transition to 18U will be seamless. His character, both on and off the ice, makes him a leader, and we’re excited to see what he will achieve with our program this season."

The JPHL invites everyone to join us in congratulating Liam, his family, and Langley HA on this significant achievement and eagerly anticipate watching Liam take the ice this season with his teammates.
