JPHL Welcomes Surrey Eagles Hockey Academy Hub for the 2025-26 Season

Oct. 28, 2024

Edmonton, AB - The Junior Prospects Hockey League (JPHL) is excited to announce the establishment of the Surrey Eagles Hockey Academy (SEHA) Hub, set to debut in the upcoming 2025-26 season. Owned and operated by the Surrey Eagles of the British Columbia Hockey League (BCHL), SEHA arrives on the heels of the Eagles’ triumphant 2024 Fred Page Cup Championship win.

This new Academy Hub will provide an exceptional development platform for aspiring hockey players, aligning with the Surrey Eagles' commitment to excellence and community engagement. In their inaugural season of JPHL competition, SEHA will field teams in both the 14U and 18U divisions, offering young athletes the opportunity to develop their skills in a highly competitive environment.

“As the JPHL continues to grow and evolve, the addition of the Surrey Eagles Hockey Academy Hub further strengthens our league,” said Richard Nault, JPHL Commissioner. “We look forward to the competitive impact SEHA will bring, and we are confident it will become a cornerstone for player development in our league and be attractive to many athletes looking for a student-athlete lifestyle that is integrated into junior hockey.”

The Surrey Eagles Hockey Academy aims to leverage the organization’s championship pedigree, providing a unique pathway for young athletes to elevate their game.

Scott Gomez, Head Coach and General Manager of the BCHL’s Surrey Eagles comments “One of the most significant benefits of this expansion is the ability for players to stay and practice in the City of Surrey. Young athletes can now stay, study, and train in their own city, surrounded by the support of their community and the exceptional resources provided by the City of Surrey. We are excited to embark on this new journey and look forward to the continued success of the Surrey Eagles both on and off the ice. Stay tuned for more updates and information about our JPHL teams and upcoming events soon.”

SEHA's introduction to the JPHL underscores the league’s growth and commitment to providing top-tier development opportunities across multiple regions.
